The only people I have seen use proper underwater digital cameras are marine botanists and other scientific personnel. Studying the life below the surface, underwater digital cameras are only normally within the realm of marine biologists and other nautical scientists.

There aren’t that many manufacturers of these specialist cameras owing to the problem of water ingress into the cameras case and the pressure they have to work under. Of course quality camera manufacturers have overcome this problem by creating watertight plastic cases that encompass the digital camera. This type of casing will turn your conventional digital camera into an underwater digital camera.

Before you rush off and buy one of these clever cases there is some information about underwater shooting you need to know.

This means that your underwater digital camera will produce images darker than those images you took while on land so to avoid this, use white balance adjustment to help with natural colors. Small silica gel packs can be useful if they can fit in the case without causing an obstruction.

Don’t be afraid to experiment with your underwater digital camera by adding other lenses that may come with it. Lenses that allow you to get really close to the subject can also normally be fitted just ask if the camera has a macro facility.

The seals on the underwater digital camera need to be kept clean and free fro contaminants so ensure the camera is thoroughly rinsed of when you return to the surface. Sometimes, small grains of sand gain access to the case and in this instance rinsing with water is the most preferable solution.

You will find out more about underwater digital cameras at the Sony, Canon or Nikon web site who are manufacturers that produce this type of specialized item.

An underwater digital camera is not just used to capture underwater memories; some professional marine photographers also use underwater digital cameras in their business. Even marine biologists and scientists use underwater digital cameras to capture marine life and thus be able to study the life and properties of the marine life. Please listen to me when I say that even waterproof cameras cannot withstand underwater photography. Now if you’re really serious about using an underwater digital camera to capture those wacky and funny moments underwater, I suggest that you buy specialty cameras.

There are rarely underwater digital cameras, as cameras are electronic and cannot withstand water and water pressure. The closest electronics has ever got to producing underwater digital cameras are producing underwater casings for digital cameras. These casing will turn your conventional digital camera into an underwater digital camera.

If you are shooting with your underwater digital camera, you need to take note of a few things to help you come up with the best images underwater.

Be sure to check your underwater digital camera’s viewfinder to check the right picture angle and size that you want.

An underwater digital camera with its built-in flash will produce marine show phenomenon. Before using your underwater digital camera, submerge the camera in the water first for several seconds then check if there are leaks through the case. It is also advisable to put silica gel or two inside the case of your underwater digital camera as long as they don’t disturb the camera’s operation. (Silica gel will keep the moisture from forming inside your camera case.)

Most underwater digital cameras come with optional lenses. Don’t be afraid to add these lenses to your underwater digital camera kit.

What is DVR and CCTV Systems?

Executive Summary about : Cameras Security By  Jason Pachiato

DVR(digital video recorder) also known as a personal video recorder records directly to a disk or hard drive instead of to a video tape of sorts. CCTV security system organizations also use DVR in their surveillance systems since DVR is able to record for extended lengths of time. DVR is therefore used by banks, car dealerships, retail stores, and especially at mini-markets which are a prime target for crime. Such recorder systems are helping combat crime by providing excellent images of people committing crimes.

A typical DVR surveillance system has the essential components including motion sensors, multiplexer, image zoom controls; color quad processor and CCTV camera connections.

Most of such surveillance systems have image zoom controls that can move and turn from side to side ensuring that you don’t have to put more than two cameras in a room. Every motion in the DVR systems can be separated into an image in common formats like jpeg which makes recognition of faces or movements easier.

You can then store the videos according to time and date for sequential retrieving. Some of these systems also offer audio recorders to listen to conversations taking place in a room being monitored. In the near future, more of such technological enhancements will make the DVR security systems even more effective and with possible lower prices.

Types of Hidden Cameras

There are many different types of hidden cameras you might consider if you want to put up surveillance in your home, office, or workplace. These different types include motion detectors, timed cameras, sound activated, nanny cams, and more.

The motion detector cameras are excellent hidden cameras because they use less energy. They require fewer batteries and are the most cost effective camera you can purchase. The camera will activate when it detects movement and immediately begin recording.

These types of cameras will record the video to things like SD cards or send it out directly to a monitor screen. This is commonly used for video surveillance for security guards and other job types. Some people like to put the motion detector cameras outside if they suspect someone is messing with their car in a specific parking space and they don’t know who it is.

Many of the motion detection or other hidden cameras are timed. The timed cameras will begin recording by you turning on the device. They will record for a set amount of time and then stop. Nanny cams and other hidden cameras come in a large variety of shapes and sizes. They are great because they usually come in a format of a stuffed animal, alarm clock, wall clock, book, or some other thing that has a hidden camera inside of it and you cannot see it no matter how hard you look.

These cameras blend in well with the environment. You can purchase a hidden camera in the form of a book and place it in the bookshelf with the rest of your collection. When you purchase hidden cameras for your surveillance purposes there are many for you to choose from. You may decide to get a motion detection camera or even a timed camera. Some cameras look like stuffed animals or a pack of cigarettes and are designed to blend in with the environment while they record hours of video.

Nowadays, CCTV cameras have become a fad and are being installed everywhere for crime prevention and detection. In the market today, there are different types of technologically advanced CCTV cameras which offer fitting surveillance security solutions to your home, property or office.

Indoor dome camera are usually used as the security mechanism for the indoors of a house or building. Outdoor CCTV Camera are mostly used as the name suggests for outdoor places. Outdoor cameras are used for entry and exit points of the concerned property with limited night lighting.

InfraRed Day/ Night Camera are used for high alert security areas where surveillance needs to happen throughout day and night. IR Bullet cameras are as per their name placed inside a bullet shaped housing and are small in size, have an integrated design, and are really effective. Such cameras offer illuminate viewing even in darkness and are weatherproof as well. Such cameras can be used in residential places as well as commercial places depending on their features.

Vandal proof cameras are outdoor cameras which are sheltered within solid material and are covered by a “hub” of break-proof glass which doesn’t hinder the quality of the video camera streams and hence are suitable for wall or ceiling mounting and are rain and fog resistant.

Hidden cameras are used for secret monitoring and are hence very compact in size . Such cameras have a built-in recorder that records and broadcasts simultaneously. Such cameras are usually installed in public places like department stores, theatres, clubs, etc.

Pan-tilt-zoom camera can view and zoom in all directions. The camera can be set to automatically rotate to different fields of vision.

All About CCTV Cameras and Systems

CCTV(closed circuit television) produces images using the chips - CMOS or CCD (Charge Couple Device). The CCTV cameras which are low quality and cheap generally use the CMOS technology which in turn produces poor quality images and has very poor light sensitivity. The CCTV cameras which are of good quality and are costly use CCD technology.

Black and white chip cameras produce greater resolution and better light sensitivity, therefore suitable for use in dark areas whereas color cameras offer more realistic and natural picture. CCTV cameras have a box type body with the ability to use different types and size of lenses.

The presence of exchangeable CS Mount Camera lenses enable the camera to monitor objects from virtually any distance. There is a type of cameras which are known as Bullet cameras and are contained inside bullet shaped housing. The biggest advantage of bullet camera is the small size and integrated design, some bullet cameras will even have infrared LED future built-in.

Another type of Security Camera is a Board Camera which has a fixed lens mounted on a circuit board. These cameras are usually packaged in a small case (called Mini Cameras) or dome (known as Mini Dome) or simply sold unpackaged, for mounting by the purchaser.
