Nowadays, CCTV cameras have become a fad and are being installed everywhere for crime prevention and detection. In the market today, there are different types of technologically advanced CCTV cameras which offer fitting surveillance security solutions to your home, property or office.

Indoor dome camera are usually used as the security mechanism for the indoors of a house or building. Outdoor CCTV Camera are mostly used as the name suggests for outdoor places. Outdoor cameras are used for entry and exit points of the concerned property with limited night lighting.

InfraRed Day/ Night Camera are used for high alert security areas where surveillance needs to happen throughout day and night. IR Bullet cameras are as per their name placed inside a bullet shaped housing and are small in size, have an integrated design, and are really effective. Such cameras offer illuminate viewing even in darkness and are weatherproof as well. Such cameras can be used in residential places as well as commercial places depending on their features.

Vandal proof cameras are outdoor cameras which are sheltered within solid material and are covered by a “hub” of break-proof glass which doesn’t hinder the quality of the video camera streams and hence are suitable for wall or ceiling mounting and are rain and fog resistant.

Hidden cameras are used for secret monitoring and are hence very compact in size . Such cameras have a built-in recorder that records and broadcasts simultaneously. Such cameras are usually installed in public places like department stores, theatres, clubs, etc.

Pan-tilt-zoom camera can view and zoom in all directions. The camera can be set to automatically rotate to different fields of vision.

CCTV(closed circuit television) produces images using the chips - CMOS or CCD (Charge Couple Device). The CCTV cameras which are low quality and cheap generally use the CMOS technology which in turn produces poor quality images and has very poor light sensitivity. The CCTV cameras which are of good quality and are costly use CCD technology.

Black and white chip cameras produce greater resolution and better light sensitivity, therefore suitable for use in dark areas whereas color cameras offer more realistic and natural picture. CCTV cameras have a box type body with the ability to use different types and size of lenses.

The presence of exchangeable CS Mount Camera lenses enable the camera to monitor objects from virtually any distance. There is a type of cameras which are known as Bullet cameras and are contained inside bullet shaped housing. The biggest advantage of bullet camera is the small size and integrated design, some bullet cameras will even have infrared LED future built-in.

Another type of Security Camera is a Board Camera which has a fixed lens mounted on a circuit board. These cameras are usually packaged in a small case (called Mini Cameras) or dome (known as Mini Dome) or simply sold unpackaged, for mounting by the purchaser.
